Professional Agile Leadership - Evidence-Based Management™ (PAL-EBM) is an interactive, exercise-based course that provides a solid understanding of Evidence-Based Management (EBM) and the role of agile leadership. Through a combination of discussions and exercises, participants gain a deep understanding of the fundamentals of EBM and the insights needed to put it into practice, learning practices used by successful agile teams and agile organizations.
The course also includes the globally recognized Professional Agile Leadership - EBM™ (PAL-EBM) certification exam.
## Measuring Value to Achieve Improvement and Agility
With markets and customer needs constantly changing, organizations must quickly respond to new challenges and opportunities and deliver greater value. They also need information and evidence to achieve true business agility.
However, many organizations adopting agile product development still rely on traditional management approaches, where leaders set long-term goals that cannot be changed and progress is expected to be managed through dashboards of static measurement metrics.
To address these challenges and opportunities, Scrum.org developed the Evidence-Based Management (EBM) framework. EBM is an agile approach that helps leaders guide teams to continuously improve customer outcomes, organizational capabilities, and business outcomes. By focusing on customer value and intentional experimentation, EBM systematically improves organizational performance to achieve strategic goals.
## Course Overview
In this 1-day PAL-EBM course, participants learn what EBM is and how to apply it through practical, exercise-based learning. Through a series of exercises, learners explore techniques that support an agile mindset:
- Use empiricism to set strategic goals, manage unknown complexity through experiments to achieve them, and adjust the goals themselves as conditions change
- Build a cultural environment based on clear goals, appropriate measures, and trust to enable self-management and autonomy
- Shift from measuring progress purely through team performance metrics to dialogues focused on customer-centricity and improving customer outcomes
- Leverage the four Key Value Areas (Unrealized Value, Current Value, Time-to-Market, Ability to Innovate) as evidence-based decision lenses to drive operational improvement
PAL-EBMコースを修了したすべての参加者には、Professional Agile Leadership - Evidence-Based Management（PAL-EBM）認定試験を受験するためのパスワードが発行されます。
業界で認められているPAL-EBM認定試験への合格には、85%以上の正答が必要です。14日以内に受験した場合、1回目が不合格でも追加料金なしで2回目の受験が可能です。
認定試験は英語（Webプロクタリング、60分、40問、多肢選択／正誤問題）ですが、ブラウザの翻訳機能を使った日本語での受験が公式に認められています。
Scrum.orgの認定資格には有効期限がありません（更新費用は不要）。
All participants who complete the PAL-EBM course will be issued a password to take the Professional Agile Leadership - Evidence-Based Management (PAL-EBM) certification exam.
A passing score of 85% or higher is required for the industry-recognized PAL-EBM assessment. If you take the exam within 14 days and do not pass on the first attempt, you can take a second attempt at no additional cost.
The assessment is in English (web-proctored, 60 minutes, 40 multiple-choice and true/false questions), but taking it in Japanese via the browser's translation feature is officially permitted.
Scrum.org certifications do not expire (no renewal fee required).
