What Is Scrum Training? Types, Cost, and How to Choose

Professional Scrum Trainer Gregory Fontaine explains the types of Scrum training, typical costs, how they relate to certifications, and how to choose the right course for your team.

"I want to take Scrum training, but there are so many options I don't know which to choose." We hear this often. This article maps out the landscape of Scrum training, typical costs, how it relates to certification, and how to pick the right course for your goals — from the perspective of a Scrum.org certified Professional Scrum Trainer (PST).

What is Scrum training?

Scrum training teaches the mindset, roles, and mechanics of Scrum — the most widely used agile framework — in a structured way. Rather than memorizing terminology, the goal is to internalize, through exercises and discussion, how teams continuously deliver value based on empiricism (transparency, inspection, and adaptation).

Our Scrum training is led by one of the very few Japanese-speaking Professional Scrum Trainers, so you learn directly in Japanese with examples relevant to Japanese workplaces — no interpreter required.

Main types of Scrum training

Scrum courses are organized by role and theme. The most common are:

Typical cost of Scrum training

Cost depends on the course type, number of days, and delivery format (public vs. private/in-company). As a rough guide, a two-day certification course is typically on the order of 200,000 yen per person. Scrum.org courses two attempts at the official certification assessment, and passing earns a globally recognized certification that never expires.

For teams or whole organizations, private (in-company) training lowers the per-person cost and lets you tailor the content to your specific challenges. Contact us for exact pricing.

How to choose without regret

On-the-job support is effective for making training stick. We help turn learning into action through agile coaching and our Scrum Master Resource Navigator.

Summary

研修を受ければ認定資格は取得できますか? | Does taking the course guarantee certification?

研修受講後にScrum.orgの公式認定試験を受験でき、合格すると認定資格を取得できます。試験は研修とは別に受験する形式で、研修は合格に向けた理解を深める場となります。

After the course you can take Scrum.org's official certification assessment, and passing earns the certification. The exam is taken separately from the course; the course deepens the understanding needed to pass.

オンラインと対面のどちらがおすすめですか? | Is online or in-person better?

どちらも演習中心のインタラクティブな形式で、学習効果に大きな差はありません。移動負担を抑えたい場合はオンライン、チームの一体感を重視する場合は対面がおすすめです。

Both are interactive and exercise-driven, with little difference in learning outcomes. Choose online to reduce travel, or in-person when team cohesion matters most.
